About Natural Ultrasound
In 1992, Naolí Vinaver, a Mexican midwife, created an artistic technique called “Natural Ultrasound”. This came from an empathetic understanding that rural women, whom she accompanied in pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, did not have access to modern medical care, including ultrasounds or ultrasound scans. This system provided a beautiful emotional connection between mothers and fathers, their children, and the fetus still in the womb.
Naolí comments, "After creating and teaching the Natural Ultrasound technique around the world for over 25 years, I am honored to note that other people in the world of birth have incorporated my technique into their work."
In this video the steps are given to locate the fetal heartbeat, also, to measure gestational age, you will learn to palpate and recognize the presentation in which the baby is located inside the uterus. Step by step, Naolí describes how to trace and illuminate the drawing of the new member of the family. With this form of visualization, with sensitivity and joy, the couple, the pregnant woman and the rest of the family are integrated, because in each consultation with the midwife they will be able to accompany them, to enjoy this atmosphere of welcome and waiting for the little being. Likewise, a connection will be made between the baby, the couple and the other members of the family by creating an image of the real position of the little one inside the womb and of the size of it, expressed in a beautiful and creative design.
The Natural Ultrasound is also an excellent tool to avoid unnecessary ultrasounds during pregnancy that may be intrusive for the baby. Below is a summary of the contents:
