The birth of Naoli's third child, TamayaMidwife Naoli Vinaver joyously gives birth to her third child, Tamaya Okumura Vinaver, in the family’s hot tub. Narrated by Naoli and taped by her father, George Vinaver, we are treated to an exquisite and intimate home birth in the lush mountain countryside of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. (Version in Spanish) Segment of Birth DayIn this segment, Naoli shares a little bit about her experience with labor, explaining that when she walks toward her husband her labor progresses because she feels their love is growing and expanding.
(English version) Sexuality, Birth and the Power of WomenNaoli has been an admirer, active advocate and promoter of natural and instinctive birth since childhood. As a midwife, she has already organized (and still organizes) conferences that mixed diverse cultures and social groups of traditional and professional midwives, with the aim of maintaining the dignity and wisdom of traditional childbirth, while expanding the scope of practice for all the midwives of the world. Naoli has three children born at home and dedicates her life to teaching, creating artistic materials to promote natural childbirth and to provide information to mothers and families who wish to deliver at home. She has participated in more than 1600 births since 1987. Naoli is Mexican, but lives in Brazil, where she practices the profession and teaches in workshops related to obstetrics and sexuality.
A bit of Naoli's knowledge, 2016Naoli talks about her beginning as a midwife, Mexican traditions and obstetric practices, difficulties that women can face in labor, birth culture in Mexico and some messages for pregnant women.
Interview from Elena Filiphuk. (video in English with Russian subtitles) Closing of the bodyThis ritual is a little example of my Mexican heritage as a midwife. I highly recommend it to everyone!
